Guile Swayer

Being and Emacs user and big fan of StumpWM which is an X11 based window manager written in Common Lisp. I find other window managers available have many constraints and not as flexible. I find it very important that window managers provide a scriptable environment to customize the workflow, what you can find nowadays in most window managers is simple configuration parameters instead.

Sway/i3 lacks a straightforward programmable interface for customization. This project provides almost complete control over Sway/i3 using Guile Scheme!

Why Sway?

The whole community is shifting toward Wayland and I can see the reason why. Wayland as a protocol is actually very well architected and designed unlike X11. I tried to migrate my workflow in StumpWM to both Hyprland and Sway by introducing Guile Scheme bindings. I found that Sway is much more stable and is actually more flexible than Hyprland.
